Program topics are varied, following the interests of the members, while highlighting the DAR objectives of Education, Historic Preservation and Patriotic Endeavor.

Our members contribute to the community
in many ways.

In addition to the numerous committees and volunteer activities of our members, the following list is a sampling of our varied community activities.

  • Our chapter belongs to Madison Veterans' Council and has a member on that board.

  • Chapter members volunteer at the Surgeons Quarters, a WSDAR owned historic site in Portage, Wisconsin.

  • Members volunteer at the Historic Dean House, Madison, Wisconsin.

  • Members participate in the annual Pleasant Company sale, which benefits the Madison Children's Museum.

  • Members volunteer at the Wm. S. Middleton, Veterans Memorial Hospital, Madison WI.

May Memorial Day Observances

Participation in Wreath Ceremony. A Governor Nelson Dewey member lays a wreath in ceremonies at the State Capitol Building. 

September 17-23, Constitution Week

Sept. 17, 3:00 p.m. CST Bells Across America.

November  11, Veterans Day Observances

Veteran Day Observances

  • Chapter serves at the Ice Cream Social at Middleton Veterans' Hospital.
  • Chapter participates at the Annual Rose Ceremony at the State Capitol Rotunda in Madison.
