Wau Bun is the Winnebago Indian word for 
"The Early Day."

Wau Bun Chapter has three different important dates of organization. We had an organizing meeting February 17, 1898, although Lydia Dow Swift Flanders was confirmed by National as organizing regent June 3, 1897.  The charter was granted Dec 14, 1898.
