Our charter meeting was held on November 2, 1978 with 
twenty-three attending, including the State Regent, 
Mrs. Roland Wernecke and other State Officers.

The Chapter was named for John Scott Horner, a Governor of the Michigan Territory, founder of Ripon College and an original settler of Ripon.
