The Jacques Vieau Chapter was named for a French
Canadian trader who came to "Milwakie,"
the gathering place of the rivers.
In 1795 Jacques
Vieau's daughter, Josette, married Solomon Juneau,
Milwaukee's first Mayor and Postmaster.
