It was back on January 22, 1901, that the Waukesha Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was organized under the leadership of Mrs. W. A. Bacon. As it was the thirteenth chapter organized in the State and there were thirteen members, the name Waukesha Continental was selected.
