BLESS OUR GOVERNMENT

God, You are God, Ruler of all things in heaven and 
on earth. You have created all and You maintain a 
constant Lordship over all.

No government ever exists without Your permission 
or direction. You have ordained earthly rulers for our 
welfare, for the maintenance of justice, for the safety 
of those who respect law and order and the rights of 
others, and for the correction of those who don't. 
The responsibilities of all of our rulers in our local 
community, in our state and in our nation are many. 
Our political leaders need an abundance of Your blessings. 
Lord, grant them! Especially so, move all our leaders 
that they will rule, not for their own glory nor to acquire 
advantages for themselves, but let them always be 
concerned primarily for the welfare of the people whom 
they serve.

Move me, Lord, to put You first in my life, to live 
according to Your commandments, and to obtain a life 
of righteousness through Your Son, Jesus Christ. 
Then motivate me to encourage others to do the same. 
For, You have promised in Your Word the righteousness will always 
exalt a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

May righteousness prevail throughout our land.
